1) Strategy 1 – Is there a clear command/instruction in the Bible to do or not to do?
- * Exodus 20:14 – You shall not commit adultery (NASB95)
2) Strategy 2 – Look for indirect commands in the Scriptures
- * 2 Thessalonians 3:11 For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies.
3) Strategy 3 – Look for Principles
- * 2 Thessalonians 3:13 But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary of doing good. (NASB95)
4) Strategy 4 – Look for Examples to follow or avoid
- * Example to avoid: The sin of David regarding Bathsheba and her husband Uriah
- * Example to follow: Prisca and Aquila (Romans 16:3-4)
5) Strategy 5 – Know the difference between Personal Preferences and Biblical Principles
6) Strategy 6 – Review the “One Anothers” (i.e. Galatians 6:2, Ephesians 4:1-6, Colossians 3:9)
7) Strategy 7 – Be Steadfast in Prayer
8) Strategy 8 – Examine your heart, Confession and Repentance of Sin
9) Strategy 9 – Be guided by the two greatest commandments
10) Strategy 10 – Seek Godly Counsel
11) Strategy 11 – Be Practical: Memorize and apply scripture
12) Strategy 12 – Wait on the Lord (Patience and Steadfastness)
13) Strategy 13 – Rightly inform and obey your conscience
